Bangkok (Thailand) – June 8, 2016 (travelindex.com) – The Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok will again celebrate the noble art of sabrage with the Thai chapter of the Confrerie du Sabre d’Or. The 2016 Gala Dinner will be hosted on Tuesday, 21 June 2016 at 19.00 at the acclaimed Da Vinci
restaurant.
The Confrerie du Sabre d’Or promotes the lifestyle of fine dining and wine with the art of opening chilled bottles of Champagne with a sabre. It is a masterly ceremony originating more than 200 years ago by a dashing young French cavalry officer who would slice off the cork of a champagne bottle with a sabre, rather than easing it out by hand.
The evening will begin in the hotel lobby with the traditional sabrage ceremony conducted by Jean-Claude Jalloux, the Grand Master of la Confrérie du Sabre d’ Or during cocktails.
It will be followed by a six-course menu prepared by our internationally acclaimed executive chef, Vittorio Bertini and his brigade. Champagne and wines have been selected by Vinum Lector and our Food & Beverage Director, Joan Ibenez. The price of the six-course menu including Champagne and wine is THB 3,950 net per person for members, and THB 4,450 net per person for non-members. A special evening asks for a special dress code – guests in black tie and cocktail dress are warmly welcomed.
